He has helped build and sell companies to WebMD and Microsoft. He has served as a partner level executive in Microsoft and advised companies, health ministries and NGOs regarding their healthcare data strategies particularly in China and the Middle East. Dr. Gillam was research director for the big data aggregation solution, Azyxxi, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2006 to become one of their flagship products for healthcare, renamed Amalga He is a board certified emergency medicine physician who trained, practiced, and taught at Northwestern University in Chicago. He written over fifty papers and abstracts and has eleven patents in healthcare technology. He has served as Chair of Informatics for both the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Gillam is the chief clinical judge for the Qualcomm Tricorder XPrize and also served as a judge on the Nokia Sensing XPrize. Dr. Gillam founded and ran healthcare innovation labs in Microsoft and in Washington D.C. and led projects spanning: predictive analytics; anomalous event detection; natural language processing (NLP); gesture based interfaces; de-identification; personal health records (PHRs); virtual & augmented reality; and medical robotics.

Mark Bonchek

As a member of the Singularity University faculty, Mark helps leaders embrace an exponential mindset, letting go of incremental change and scarce resources, replacing it with transformative change and the possibility of abundance. He also writes regularly for Harvard Business Review where he has published almost fifty articles. 

For over twenty years, Mark has been a pioneer on the digital frontier with a prescient ability to see where the future is going and make it relevant to the present. His 1997 doctorate in Political Economy was the first PhD awarded by Harvard University on the topic of social media. His research as an associate at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab predicted the rise of social networking, the disintermediation of media, and the empowerment of individuals. 

Throughout his career, Mark has been an advisor, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 executive.  Some of his roles include Director of Research for the Strategos Institute, where he identified patterns of innovation for companies seeking to invent new business models while avoiding the cannibalisation of their core and the COO of TomorrowLab@McKinsey, where he developed a model for executive community to understand the implications of emerging technologies on existing business.

As the CEO of Truman Company, he helped leading companies use co-creation to strengthen client relationships, market differentiation and thought leadership. As SVP of Communities and Networks for Sears Holdings, Mark began to experiment with the principles and practices that became Shift Thinking. 

As the Chief Epiphany Officer, Mark has created a new set of conceptual tools for leaders to survive and thrive in a digital age. In strategy, they enable a shift from product to platform.  In marketing, a shift from audiences to communities.  In organisation, a shift from hierarchies to networks. A diverse set of companies have embraced Shift Thinking, ranging from SAP, Kaiser Permanente and Accenture Interactive to ABC, Staples, and the American Heart Association.

She also ran Cashify, a social enterprise for financial literacy.

Shuo graduated cum laude from UC Berkeley with a triple major (and 2 minors) in 3 years, where she currently teaches and was a Board Member for the alumni organisation. Hod Lipson is a professor of Engineering and Data Science at Columbia University in New York, and a co-author of the award winning book “Fabricated: The New World of 3D printing”, and “Driverless: Intelligent cars and the road ahead”, by MIT Press (translated into 7 languages). Before joining Columbia University in 2015, Hod spent 14 years as a professor at Cornell University. He received his PhD in 1999 from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, followed by a postdoc at Brandeis University and MIT.

 

Hod Lipson’s work on self-aware and self-replicating robots challenges conventional views of robotics, and has enjoyed widespread media coverage. He has also pioneered open-source 3D printing, as well as electronics 3D printing, bio-printing and food printing. Lipson has co-authored over 300 publications that received over 14,000 citations to date. He has co-founded four companies, and is frequent keynoter both in industry and academic events. His TED Talk on self-aware machines is one of the most viewed presentations on AI and robotics. Hod directs the Creative Machines Lab, which pioneers new ways to make machines that create, and machines that are creative.

Brad is Deloitte’s Digital Platforms leader, responsible for leadership of the business, leading a team of 130+ digital consultants including strategists, UX designers, engineers, project managers, business analysts and account directors.

Brad specialises in leading digital transformation strategy and implementation in large corporations. He focuses in financial services and consumer business, while also launching new digital products within traditional businesses in other sectors. At heart, Brad is a new technology innovator and early adopter with a passion for designing and delivering services that get used by millions of people everyday. 

Aside from his expertise on digital business transformation, Brad is a trusted advisor to C-level executives and boards through his role as the National Lead for the exponential technology agenda.
