Limited to 180 places –Singularity University comes to Sydney

5 World Expert Speakers just announced!

Silicon Valley’s Singularity University (SU) is coming to Sydney this November.

This rare opportunity presented by The Growth Faculty allows a limited number of Australian executives to spend two days with five international experts on digital disruption and transformation.

Five world expert speakers have just been announced for the immersive two-day workshop, Leading Digital Transformation, an SU programme for corporate executives from 14 to 16 November 2018 at the five-star Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney.

Each is a world class expert within their own technology sector, and each boasts impressive professional highlights.

For example:

  • Receiving Harvard’s first ever PhD on the subject of social media in 1997 (Mark Bonchek);

  • Working on Google’s $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola (Shuonan Chen);

  • Consulting on innovation processes for leading brands including GAP Inc., Colgate, Levi Strauss and Cisco (Kyle Hermans);

  • Making “giving a core part of who I am” (Kent Langley), and…

  • Delivering one of the most viewed TED Talks on Artificial Intelligence and robotics with his speech about self-aware machines (Hod Lipsom)

Immersive two-day workshop

Each workshop participant will get to experience various technologies, including virtual reality, Internet of Things and brain control interfaces. They’ll get an insider’s look at technology breakthroughs to 30-year timeline and participate in a collaborative exercise mapping their organisation to leadership characteristics.

The speakers will ensure the two day workshop will help participants identify and harness the power of new disruptive business models before they’re used against them.

Unlearn outdated mental models

Mark Bonchek believes that to change what you do, you first must change how you think.

He’s an expert in creating and leading an exponential business (a term coined by Singularity University Founding Executive Director Salim Ismail in 2014, and meaning an organisation whose impact (or output) is disproportionally large — at least 10x larger — compared to its peers because of the use of new organizational techniques that leverage exponential technologies).

As the CEO of Shift Thinking, Mark works with organisations to unlearn mental models that have grown outdated, and replace them with new ones that can accelerate growth, engagement and performance.

Venture capitalism expertise

Shuonan Chen is the Founding Partner of IOVC and Agile VC, and CEO of Shinect (Silicon Valley-based community of 3,500+ engineers passionate about entrepreneurship).

Named in the 2017 “30 under 30” list by the All America Chinese Youth Federation (AACYF), this  instructor at UC Berkeley and blockchain expert has invested in and helped various startups globalise and expand into new markets.

From the Gap and Old Navy to Sydney

Kyle Herman is the founder and CEO of Be Courageous, a motivational consultancy partnering with Start Ups, Scale Ups and Fortune brands.

He helps leaders and organisations create, grow and sustain purpose-driven cultures, and unlock rapid growth.

Kyle has collectively advised, facilitated, trained and keynoted to more than 250+ brands in over 20 countries, including Gap, Old Navy, Pizza Hut, Colgate and Cisco.

Deep technology and complex large scale web applications

Kent Langley’s personal “massive transformative purpose” (MTP) is to Apply Technology for Humanity.

He is chief scientist at ExO Foundation as well as Chief Science and Technology Officer at not-for-profit organisation Fastrack Institute, as well as holding three roles with other companies.

From complex large scale web applications to live stream based analytics solutions, Kent is a recognised thought leader in cloud computing, distributed systems, technology operations, and data science enablement for organisations.

Digital manufacturing and data science

Hod Lipson is a professor of Engineering and Data Science at Columbia University in New York, and a co-author of the award winning book “Fabricated: The New World of 3D printing”, and “Driverless: Intelligent cars and the road ahead.”

Hod Lipson’s work on self-aware and self-replicating robots challenges conventional views of robotics, and has enjoyed widespread media coverage. He has also pioneered open-source 3D printing, as well as electronics 3D printing, bio-printing and food printing.
